Lucky BoyA family kitchen on Rockaway Turnpike

Since 1985 we've cooked the way we cook at home. Gyros carved to order, pies baked when you ask for them, cakes and pastries made right here in our kitchen. Come in enough times and we'll know your order before you say it.

A combo platter with gyro meat, a grilled souvlaki skewer, pita, Greek salad and a side of tzatziki. Gyro meat cone roasting on the vertical spit, topped with a whole tomato, ready to be carved. A row of white and rose wine bottles chilling in the restaurant's display refrigerator. Skirt steak topped with crispy fried onions, served with steak fried potatoes and grilled vegetables. A whole homemade toasted coconut cream pie in a graham cracker crust. Grilled halloumi salad with sliced grilled chicken, feta, tomato and radish in a glass bowl. A whole homemade cream pie topped with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and dusted cinnamon. A bowl of housemade tzatziki drizzled with olive oil and topped with fresh dill. Golden fried zucchini served with a lemon wedge and a side of marinara sauce.
Our Story

Same family. Same kitchen. Forty years.

We opened on Rockaway Turnpike in 1985 and have fed the South Shore ever since with authentic Greek and Mediterranean cooking, American classics, and everything in between.

The pies are baked to order, which is why we ask you to allow a little time. The cakes, pastries and tarts are made here, in this kitchen, and people have been known to drive in from three towns over for them.

Our dining room is warm and small and the staff tends to remember your face. That is not a marketing strategy. It is just what happens when you stay in one place for forty years.

Forty years on the Turnpike, 1985 to today.

Called it the best Greek food in the entire Eastern Seaboard, praising the sliced and skewered gyro, the white sauce, and the cream pies, which this reviewer said measured up to their late grandmother's.

Stopped in mid-workday after a rough morning, and said the hospitality made him feel at home. Took a chicken gyro to go so his wife could try it too.

A couple returned after two years away and found the owner, server and staff actually remembered us. The food, they said, was as good as the first visit.
